The Smart Cities Hackathon 2023, sponsored by Thinking North and organized by Seneca College, is an exciting opportunity for students to showcase their problem-solving skills while addressing real-world
challenges faced by Smart Cities. The hackathon is open to all students, regardless of their backgrounds. The Smart Cities Hackathon is mainly student-led by the students, alumni, professors, and members of Seneca College, with the support of sponsors such as Thinking North.
Participants can choose from several challenge sets like mental health, smart buildings, data privacy and more. The hackathon is divided into three main phases, including the qualifier (virtual), Finale Day 1 (virtual), and Finale Day 2 (in person).
Participating in the Smart Cities Hackathon offers several benefits, including experiential learning, collaboration, mentorship and technical support, and a chance to showcase solutions before a panel of experts consisting of investors, partners, school representatives, and domain specialists. The winning teams stand a chance to receive prizes and be considered for applied research project investment opportunities.
If you’re a student passionate about making a difference, the Smart Cities Hackathon is an event you won’t want to miss!
